Looking at the correlation among marriage, divorce, and birth records it is clear that more and more children are the "step-children" of more and more adults. They are not orphans, exactly. But sorta.
I was thinking of St. Joseph the Worker and how the system of Saints could be seen as a series of iconic right-brain anchors for important basic truths (like that the workers as well as the founders build any business) when it dawned on me that Jesus was a step-child, too.
